Sonnet 1

Virgilia’s Sonnet

Mine dear brave Caius for whom I have such love

There is no real great beauty in thou fight;

Thou make me cooped in cage like mourning dove

Why do thou love tremendous zeal and might?

Come thee mine husband  to thy humble home

I ask thee tell not me of battles evil rage.

Wife and son doth long see thou under our dome

Do thou not know mine heart is in a cage?

There is no joy or true intrinsic beauty

To have the men leave home so far away,

And marching to the sound of drums and duty,

Of fighting off thy cozy enemies at bay

Husband Caius come home lest death shall take.

One fight shall cause thou last and grave mistake.
