Daydream

On the shelf behind the professor were three bright red books entitled Paris, The Holy Land, and Rome.  I nearly forgot what I’d come to ask….I became lost in the possibilities of where he may have visited, or the things he might know.  Wow! Of all the places he could possibly have books about, those were three places my heart always has longed to see.

I just sat there waiting for Professor Trevelbee as he left for a brief moment to make a phone call. I became lost in the thought of what those three books contained. My daydreams began…first with Paris.

Paris: it has the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame. If only I could ride to the top of that great tower, and see the whole city. If only I could walk in the basements of the Louvre and see the great paintings of the masters, the Venus Di Milo, Napoleon’s apartment.or  walk under the great Arc de Triomphe. The great streets of Paris must be so beautiful.

The Holy Land: Christ walked among those places and lived His life in that very place. He healed so many and to think that the Son of God, God himself walked upon that land. That land is where the world began. I know so little of what I want to know about that part of the world.

And Rome, La Ecita Eterna, The Eternal City. There is so much history and art and culture. I really want to more about the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and the Temples. The Forum was once the center of all Rome, which now lays in ruins. But it can still be seen right? The Colosseum’s violent history and birth was unparalleled. None of the structures now would last as long as it has. Wow! I wonder—

My dreaming was ended as Professor Trevelbee returned from His phone conversation.

“Sorry about that interruption. My internet business partner needed to ask me some things.”
