Sonnet of Pain*

Time to go back to fighting and striving

The battle is raging and blazing around.

It’s time again to push for surviving

When the end is near will may be found.

Throbbing eyes and pounding head,

Aching bones and splitting nerves.

All I want is to find my bed.

But the battle I fight is full of curves.

The road to rest is long and rough

Arrows are piercing my neck and back.

The more it aches I must be tough.

My limbs are being pulled on the rack.

Keep the focus on the task at hand.

Make it through the pain not planned.

Chronic Migraine and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (a muscle tissue and joint disorder) don’t respond to impending thunderstorms. When I can I try to process the pain thought art.
