Prologue

The  large circular room was lit by large bronze candelabras lining the walls,  and two large fires in the massive hearths on both ends. The white marble walls were marked with dancing shadows, adding to the ethereal feeling emanating from the room, palpable to anyone who could feel magic. In the center of the room was a large wooden table inlayed mother-of-pearl, forming the Great Mages’ Insignia, the infinity symbol with a north star at the center. Thousands of dusty tomes lined the walls from the floor to the ceiling. The firelight casted ghostly reflections on the shelves, reflecting the essence of the knowledge swirling in shimmering clouds across the books.

“The fate of the universe revolves around the success of our ceremony.” Tao Xiu spoke every word with emphasis. He looked at each of his fellows, meeting all their eyes as he spoke.
They all opened themselves to the true power. The four immortal mages, two men and two women, put their hands onto the golden scepter. The clear crystal circular topper completely translucent. It was the most powerful talisman ever created. It heightened the power of the user by tenfold. No other talisman could hold or yield more power. It wouldn’t work for any mage unless at least one man and one woman used it. Each half of the true power, magus and maga (male and female)had to be used together. Galen Caisleán telepathically signaled for the other mages to begin their spell. Zora Jor-el spoke her part of the spell first. Lizabeta Magis joined in, and finally Galen and Tao. As the mages spoke in unison, the crystal finial began to change color, and swirling crystals of light spun inside the tiny orb. Light poured all around the rooms in beams of rainbow light. Mage scholars passed down  the traditions of what happened through each kingdom. A wave a white light zoomed through the realm. All people, animals, and being saw or felt the rush of color and wind; and felt the earthquake and rumble as pure ancient power spread. The evil auras of all the witch kings servants vanished along with all the hosts of the evil power. The remaining rulers untouched by the darkness found themselves teleported to the mages in the White Marble Citadel. The rulers and their families (male and female) were embodied with the ability to use the elements and the most ancient abilities of white magic. Each great mage divided up the abilities to of the four elements—water, earth, fire, and air—among the royal families. Galen, the giver of magical and elemental knowledge, chose a male and female among each country to be masters of all the elements so that every kingdom could have teachers with elemental mastery. Zora, the giver of magical and elemental abilities, told how many people would be finding their new abilities over the elements. Tao, the great builder, would provide compositions to each of the new elders to create temples of learning in the capitols of each kingdom.

“ You need only call out one of our names and we will give the knowledge you need to create  whatever will keep the pure magic alive.” Added Lizbeta, mage of raw magic and the forces that keep the dark at bay.
