So much of your life is defined as trying to belong. I’ve always been the person that someone says, “Oh it’s just Lisa. She is always in her own world. Any most of the time I was happy to be “in my own world”. I always loved the song from Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. She is content to use her imagination.
In a world where logic and left brain rules everything, someone with imagination and right brain often get sidelined. Yet everyone meeds to take the harder road to be yourself. It can be lonely to not be surrounded my lots of friends, but when you push foreward and wait to find “your people”, the people who have your interests and motives. You are glad for all the waiting.
Life will have more meaning when you are yourself and okay with it. We were not born to live in mass conformity. We were created to be ourselves. When we try to be like anyone else in an effort to feel loved and belong, we end up more unhappy because we are rejecting the thing that gives us meaning and enjoyment.
We hide our talents and strengths to be a part of what will never fulfill us.
BE YOU. LOVE who you are!
